Rick has really exceeded all of the expectations thus far. He had his PT(gymnastics) this morning already, incentive spirometer to 2500 easily today, bath, ate his entire breakfast, respiratory physiology and pain quite well under control.
In the next hour(we were asked to step out for an hour or so), he will have one chest tube removed and will take his chest tube vaccuum and IV etc. to the bathroom. They call this mobile unit a "dance partner" or "mercedes". All systems are working.
Rick made the comment that the surgery is much better than chemotherapy.
Pathology will be delayed until next week because the Pathologist at this hospital would like to examine the tissue longer. Thus far, no preliminary other than the remarks from my earlier posts. We have to remember to be still. God remains in control.
Thank you for your posts to him. He will see those in a day or so. There is no internet from the rooms, only at a kiosk which he cannot go to as of yet. Rick is very excited to have Julie here. He plans to call her today.
Again, thanks.
Love, Polly

"Be still and know that I am God". What a great attitude to have for these next days of waiting.

Keep up the good work Rick!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've had quite a morning already. Come to think of it, you've done more than me.=) All kidding aside, I think it is fantastic that you are doing so well. I hope you can feel all the good juju that we are sending your way. I'm sure you can't wait to be reunited with Julie.
Miss Polly, I hope you've gotten a chance to eat some wonderful chocolate while you've been going back and forth. It really should be a larger part of the food pyramid.
Take care and I wish you and Julie safe travels,
Kim
Nice job Rick! So nice to hear that you are progressing above and beyond the expectations! You all are in my constant prayers and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the steady progress Rick and I look forward to hearing more good news soon.
Love and prayers to all of you.
Safe travels to all.
Love,
Sue H.
PS~This is my second attempt at posting today, they do not seem to be showing up, so I apologize if this is a repeat!!!
Rock on, Rick! CONGRATULATIONS!! 2500 is just awesome (will have to get Karina puffing more...).
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful recovery. You will love having that tube out. While you are out for your stroll, keep your eyes open for Chris and Tim who should be on their way to Germany for Chris' second side. They are lovely people.
With thanks to God for your rapid recovery,
Fernette and Brock
Hi Rick.
ReplyDeleteSo happy everything is going so well for you. Sounds like your recovery is ahead of schedule. That is because you are a strong and determined man to get home. Jesus does answer our prayers.
Hi Polly,
